ASA4 – University of Cambridge

Developing Integrated Archaeology
16-18 September 2016, McDonald Institute, Cambridge

Call for Papers and Posters: Abstracts for papers and posters should be sent to asa4 [at] by 31st July 2016.

Registration and tickets

Paper presentations will be 15 minutes long with 5 minutes question time after each presentation. There will be a 20-minute discussion at the end of each session.

Proceedings of the 4th Annual Student Archaeology conference will be published by the International Journal of Student Research in Archaeology. This is an open access peer-reviewed journal, which was established in 2015 to enhance the academic experience, scholarly presence, and recognition of accomplished students worldwide.

Poster submissions should be A0 size (841mm x 1189mm) in portrait format only (landscape format will not be accepted). Posters must be prepared on one single sheet.

Posters will be displayed on freestanding boards. The surfaces of the boards are fabric-covered and posters can be attached with tacks (provided). Each author is responsible for designing, printing and bringing the poster to the registration desk.

Conference posters will be judged by a panel of UK sixth-form students, who will be attending the conference as a way of exploring archaeology as a direction for their university studies. Posters should, therefore, communicate strong archaeological research in a way that is clear and engaging to an audience of sharp and enthusiastic non-specialists.
